I was taught to trust GOD in all that I do, treat people the way I want to be treated, educate myself, and learn to battle life's challenges physically, mentally, socially, and emotionally.  My biological father was never around, due to his drug addictions and alcoholic demons. My mother told me stories about how sharp he was in his youth, until he was influenced by his peer to engage in the many addictive behaviors that eventually took his mind.  So, from time to time my brother and I would spot him on the side of the road in passing, just lying there or walking down the road going nowhere fast.  I remember one time driving up to a gas station as an adult, with my family (wife & children) in the car, noticing a man walking up out of nowhere with a spray bottle and towel to wash my widows.  As I looked up I noticed it was my biological father, trying to wash my car windows for money.  I then noticed my daughter (3 years of age) glaring at me with fear in her eyes asking, “What is that man doing daddy?”  I said, “Trying to support his habits”.  

That experience changed my life.  It inspired me to aspire to be the best possible father I could be for my children.  Also, since I was still very young at that time, I wanted to make sure I was not negatively influenced by my peer in any way; to avoid anything I thought could promote an addiction of any sort.  Determined to use all of my talents, gifts, and knowledge to provide for my family in every legal way possible.  I voweled to FATHER my children by watching / learning how to established opportunity, help, education, direction and a since of identity for each of them.  I would informing them of their greatness, and encourage personal growth in their lives by being present to pave a path my father did NOT provide to me; ( IDENTITY --- DIRECTION --- EDUCATION --- HELP --- OPPORTUNITY ).
